Our library is a unique place in Eastern Cape dedicated to the discovery of the French language and Francophone cultures. Whether you are a beginner or almost bilingual, here you can find the most suitable resources and tools needed to support your cultural immersion and progression in French.

Access unlimited to our members, the French Library is a modern multiform space that can transform into a conference / screening venue with state-of-the-art audio and video systems. Books, graphic novels, newspapers, magazines, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, learning & teaching materials can be borrowed and consulted onsite.

The Library is a public space, and anyone may browse its collections. Borrowing rights and access to Culturethèque are on the other hand limited to Alliance Française Port Elizabeth Members.
